EN50121-4:2016 What you should know

New sections of EN50121, which target apparatus have been listed in the Official Journal of the European Union. The additions mean that apparatus which has been tested to the previous 2006 version will cease to conform from 30th November 2018.

You can see the full list in the Official Journal, where sections specific to EN50121 can be found on page 4.

What's changing?

While much of EN50121 will remain the same, there are some new technical requirements included.

Details of the major changes are as follows:

  1. Extended radiated immunity frequency range to 6GHz
  2. Removal of EN61000-4-9 testing requirement

If your product is unchanged then a gap analysis and limited testing would allow compliance to the latest requirements.
