Andy Coombes is both Managing and Technical Director as well as our EMC Notified Body.
He brings a vast experience from previous roles within the EMC industry as well as detailed technical knowledge of radio testing from his role as technical sales lead for a well-known EMC equipment manufacturer.
Andy is a keen sportsman and enjoys green-laning in his classic Range Rover as well as mountain biking and winter holidays skiing in the Alps.
Andy has been with Hursley EMC from the start in 1997 and was the company's first employee.
Andy works is in the commercial EMC department, and his experience and knowledge help the younger members of the team. Andy specialises in Korean approvals, multimedia products and FCC testing.
Andy is a keen rambler and has covered much of Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset in the past few decades! He is a long-standing season ticket holder at Southampton and has supported Saints from the darker days of Div 2.
Dan is the laboratory manager supporting Andy Coombes with the day to day running of the lab.
Dan joined us 20 years ago, and has worked his way up to his present position. He has extensive standards knowledge, plus an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the laboratory's operations.
Now approaching ‘middle age’, his family keep him busy and he is a keen helper at events his children are involved in. A superb footballer, he still plays 5-a-side and 11-a-side regularly, though we hear less of the goal celebration stories these days!
After being a customer for several years, Malcolm joined us in April 2018 to add to our existing engineering team with his technical admin skills and testing ability.
He previously spent time with Nokia in Finland setting up their EMC labs and has also worked in the IT, telecoms and multimedia industries.
Malcolm is a keen motorcyclist, with a growing fleet of bikes ranging from classics to modern day tourers. His ideal summer holiday is a motorbike tour through northern Spain.
Dan now heads up the military section at Eurofins Hursley. Joining as an apprentice several years ago, he now has his own apprentice in Haydn. Dan continues to expand our military EMC testing scope and we have realised significant process improvements under his lead.
Dan is currently completing an HND via a distance learning scheme.
Out of the office Dan captains the Hursley 5-a-side team on Monday nights and gets to boss everyone around. He is keen on pub evenings with friends and has recently taken up golf.
Luke originally joined us as an apprentice in the commercial EMC section. However it soon became clear his natural ability with people and interest in the sales side, has seen him recently move into a new role as Internal Sales at Eurofins Hursley, supporting Pete, our Business Development Manager.
Luke is a keen socialite and is often out and about with friends at pubs and clubs. He is also a keen sports fan, online gamer and cyclist too.
Ryan joined us from a customer in 2016.
Ryan has recently taken over the role of Quality Manager to support Andy Coombes and Dan Tiroke as part of the senior leadship team.
Ryan is in his last year of his OU degree now. Ryan works in the commercial section and also looks after the instrumentation and calibration supported by Michelle.
His life outside of Hursley EMC consists of mountain biking, free climbing, and jumping out of planes and off tall buildings with a parachute. He has completed hundreds of parachute jumps and competes in a free-fall team. The videos are amazing!
Richard joined us from Ericsson as an experienced EMC tester on the radio side. He has brought these skills and experience to Hursley EMC and allowed us to develop the radio testing side faster. He supports Rob in this department
Richard is a keen climber and tries to get at least one evening a week in dangling by his fingers 40 feet up. He has a collection of old British motorbikes and some faster Japanese ones too. His spare time is spent holidaying in some exciting places. He allegedly plays the guitar, also.
As Office Manager, Anna is a vital component in the Eurofins Hursley business. She is the most organised person and her instinctive understanding of work flow help to keep the company running smoothly.
Anna enjoys shopping and catching up with friends and family. She also shares her husband’s passion for fast cars and motorbikes.
Michelle joined us in January 2019 as a Business Administration Apprentice. Michelle has already fast-tracked through an HNC and has just successfully completed her studies for an HND in business via a day release programme at Highbury College.
As Eurofins Hursley has expanded, we have significantly increased our engineering headcount and Michelle will be bringing in much needed new resource and new skills from her course to help the admin team managed by Anna.
When not in the office, Michelle is an accomplished horse rider and spends time out hacking on her pony. Outdoor walks and socialising with friends are high on the agenda, too!
Matt joined us in May 2019 from a local company. Joining us as an EMC Technician, working in the commercial department, he will be adding much needed resource to the test team.
In his spare time Matt plays in a heavy metal rock band called Earth Born Kings, and he also enjoys live action role playing games.
Gary Hensford joined us in July 2019 to head up the finance department. A former CFO of a large corporation Gary will help to streamline our operations.
In his spare time Gary enjoys live music, pubs and countryside walks.
Danny Dzenis joined us in June 2019. A former service engineer, he is used to dealing with customers and has a very practical approach to everything. Danny will be working in the commercial EMC lab training with the senior staff.
With a young family Danny doesn’t get much spare time, but when he does, he is a professional motorsport photographer at circuits all over the country.
Pete Dobromylski joined us in July 2019. He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with him from a variety of industries.
Pete will be Eurofins E&E Hursley’s Business Development Manager, creating new business opportunities to help us to keep growing.
Pete has a great interest in flying and has been in all manner of aircraft in his time, when his feet are on the ground, he enjoys exploring the great outdoors and looking after his allotment.
Haydn joined us in September 2019 as an EMC Apprentice Technician.
Haydn is currently studying for his HNC at Andover colege via a day release programme.
Haydn works in the military EMC section which is lead by Dan White.
When not in the office, Haydn is keen on music and socialising.
Josh also joined us in September 2019 as an EMC Apprentice Technician in the commercial EMC section.
Josh is currently studying for a level 3 Diploma via a day release course at Andover College.
Eurofins Hursley has had great success with the apprentice programme and several key staff members have matured into senior positions, so we recognise the benefits training up new staff brings to the organisation.
Josh is the lead singer in a local band and enjoys playing to live audiences and generally socialising in town.
