Matthew Algie

Beautiful design

Since 1864, Matthew Algie has been sourcing, roasting and supplying some of the best coffee around. With a number of coffee drinkers at Eurofins Hursley, naturally we were delighted to be approached to test their Halo machine!

About Halo

Bringing together their coffee and equipment expertise, Matthew Algie and their team of specialists in product design, technology and manufacturing spent two years developing a premium vending machine that offered the ultimate in quality hot drinks. Halo aims to provide convenience without compromise and is rich in features and benefits for both consumers and operators, including 35 drink selection combinations, engaging HD touchscreens, POS tools and self-clean cycles. Just over a year on from making their full introduction into the market, there are now 100 Halo machines in trade with customers varying from Marks & Spencer to Ground.

Our involvement

As with any consumer-facing product, it was paramount that Halo operated safely and effectively. Through work at our Hursley labs, we were able to help the Matthew Algie team create a system that is extremely reliable and causes no interference with the hundreds of electronic devices it comes into contact with on a daily basis. The machine is a complex assembly with an interactive multimedia kiosk, aligned with a vending machine with many moving parts. Some innovative solutions from Eurofins Hursley kept the project on time and budget.

Halo is a high-end gourmet vending machine and we wanted to ensure, as well as producing Barista quality coffee, it fully met the necessary standards. When we visited Eurofins Hursley to set-up Halo in the anechoic chambers, the team were very welcoming, polite and professional. The facility is impressive to see and it was an interesting day witnessing the testing first hand. There was plenty of coffee to keep us all going too courtesy of Halo!
